Simon-Porte Jacquemus has once again proven his talent for selecting breathtaking presentation locations. Yesterday, on June 10, 2024, marked a memorable occasion as Jacquemus celebrated the 15th anniversary of his brand with a spectacular show at the famous Villa Malaparte in Capri.
La Dolce Vita
Living carefree; the pleasure of a good morning coffee or a pain au chocolat, a book to read or a nap by the sea, a stroll through the square or along the riviera enjoying a delicious ice cream… In Italy, this is called “La Dolce Vita,” and in France, “La Joie de Vivre.” At its core, it’s the same feeling—the joy of simple yet gratifying rituals designed to make us feel good. When I watch the teaser videos for the “La Casa de Jacquemus” show, with scenes of fresh lemonade, freshly pressed linen, or a swim in the Mediterranean, it’s this very sentiment that fills me.
Villa Malaparte
Perched atop Capo Massullo, Villa Malaparte offers breathtaking views of the rock formations and chimneys below. This private house was designed in 1938 by the writer and representative of literary expressionism and Italian neorealism, Curzio Malaparte. The villa is revered as a masterpiece of modern architecture, exemplifying a harmonious integration between rationalist modernity and the natural environment.
Influenced by the works of rationalist architects, the villa has appeared in films such as Jean-Luc Godard’s “Contempt” and Liliana Cavani’s “The Skin.”
Invités d’honneur
The event was graced by a host of stars, including Elodie, Dua Lipa, and Gwyneth Paltrow, adding even more glamour to the occasion. Capri itself, renowned for its stunning landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and luxurious ambiance, provided the perfect backdrop for the show. The island’s unique charm and the architectural splendor of Villa Malaparte combined to create an unforgettable experience.
Reflecting on this occasion, Jacquemus’s choice of location underscored his ongoing commitment to merging fashion with extraordinary settings, further solidifying his status as a visionary in the fashion industry.
Il faut trouver l’équilibre pour être unique et portable
